Tonight was a truly awesome night at Karla's and reminded me why this place has one of the best open mics in the tri-state area. John Beacher is one of the greatest open mic hosts that have ever lived. The crowd was light at this show, but they were listening intently, especially once "Let It Die" began. I debuted another brand new original song, "The Tide" and I'm really happy with this one. It's a quiet song but I love the vibe it has. This was my first time playing Karla's since the middle of last year, so I decided I'd also bring back "Let It Die", one of the songs I've played the least over the last couple of years, and to be honest, I'm not sure why--I love it almost as much as all my other songs, and tonight was I think the best version I've ever played. I must play this song more and continue to develop it, because it has so much potential. I took this version out into improv-land and it went over really well--the crowd was hollering loudly and couldn't wait for my closer. Enjoy the show!
