(*The first set of this show, there was a problem with the soundboard resulting in excessive amounts of reverb. I did what I could to salavage the recording, but it's certainly not to up typical standards. However, the second set came out brilliant and the quality is super pristine on it. My apologies in advance for the first set*)
I was invited to perform at Mara's by local musician and songwriter Bryan Hansen, and I was thrilled to get a chance to play at this venue. This was my very first time performing here, and it was much better than I could have anticipated. The place was really big, with awesome coffee, food and staff. I really recommend it. I exchanged sets with Asbury-based songwriter Michael Askin, and it was a really fun night. The crowd was small but super attentive and into the performance--staying for the remainder of the show. I debuted a brand new instrumental song called "Here It Goes"---the very first true instrumental song I've written. There are some really great versions of some songs here, including a fantastic rendition of "A Hole Inside" a version which I think may be one of the best ones I've played. "The Machine" smokes from start to finish as I extended it for a little longer than usual and explored some different percussive elements with it. I felt really comfortable here and really let loose. I felt more like myself..stretching out, experimenting and having a blast. Enjoy!
